Quasicombo
A downloadable game for Windows
Quasicombo is a short 2.5D beat-'em-up where the player's route through the level creates an ordered quantum braid. Normal play focuses on melee combat and combos. At route junctions, the player chooses a path; each meaningful crossing is recorded as part of the braid. At boss encounters, the accumulated braid is evaluated by the Quantum API and influences boss states and QTE behavior.

Environment Story
In the farthest corners of the pacific, there resides a remote jungle island. A place overrun with trees and foliage, uninhabitable to humans and civilized creatures. This island is used as the designated dumping ground for abandoned experiments and failed prototypes. Some of these experiments seem to include anti-gravity technologies, which affected the surrounding terrain in strange ways. This place has become more hostile over the years as the projects and technologies become rogue.

Enemies
If you happen to be unlucky enough to find yourself walking through this uncharted havoc, you will see what looks like giants made of rock and wood. These are the unfortunate remains of a discarded line of robots (which did not pass the requirements of being docile enough to interact with humans) that have become unruly, and forever roam the wilderness.
Boss
Within these depths of the island, a set of footsteps roam the shadows. This creature protects its territory from unfamiliar moving objects it deems a threat. Originally a robot designed to secure the perimeter around a mediaeval fantasy castle attraction, made to look like one of the castle’s residents. What was once was a promising security prototype, now is a discarded machine using its capabilities to guard its territory to give itself purpose.

Player Character
One of the many unfortunate machines who ended up on this island is NYSQ, a robot from a line of navigation robots made to guide civilians in unmapped areas where compasses and classical GPS systems fail. These robots are equipped with strong and resilient hardware, able to clear terrain and remove obstacles to clear the path for civilians. The small size of these robots allows them to fit through small gaps to guarantee the safety of the road ahead. They are also equipped to simulate human empathy to be able to guide lost and scared civilians and children.
While in development, NYSQ was caught in an accident that caused its navigation abilities to stop functioning. However, this malfunction also increased NYSQ’s adaptability and survivability in unfamiliar terrain. NYSQ’s goal is to find the way out to find the factory it came from so the malfunction can be repaired, thinking that civilization is just beyond the jungle. NYSQ wants to gather data on the feeling that the civilians experience of returning home after being lost and unsure of whether they are getting home or not by experiencing itself, to improve its performance when it begins its duties.
